Warrior Assault Systems – Universal Pistol Holster [In-Depth Review]

Share

Intro

I’m pretty sure I’m speaking for everyone when I say that one of the most annoying things in life is when you buy an item specific accessory, the delivery guy knocks on your door, you get all excited and in that moment you’re imagining just how awesome it’s going to be… but wait – it doesn’t fit!

We’ve all been there at least once in our lives and, oh boy, it’s a cold place to be!

Airsoft is no exception to this. There’s been many times I’ve heard or seen people talking about how they’ve bought some accessories for their gear and it wasn’t compatible;, and as much as the description said it was compatible, it just wasn’t. Dammit.

Apparently one of the most prolific offenders for these kind of things in the Airsoft world, are holsters. Imagine buying a holster which arrives just before a game day only to find out it doesn’t actually fit your pistol? I’d be furious… and have been.

Price

Fortunately, the solution to this problem comes in the form of this superb offering from Warrior Assault Systems – the Universal Pistol Holster coming in at around £45-£50. I agree it’s on the pricey side of things for the sake of being used a few times a month, but considering its a real steel product from an internationally trusted manufacturer, that’s not too bad. In fact, believe me, it’s worth every penny! Take care of this little gem and you genuinely won’t need another holster. Ever again.

Compatibility

This holster is incredibly adaptable by using a secure velcro fastening system. You can adjust it to fit just about any pistol from a diddy little G23, to a 1911, M92 and P226. That’s just the ones I’ve personally had holstered in mine. A friend of mine uses his Warrior UPH for his ASG CZ Shadow.

On top of all of this, the WAS UPH is actually genuinely molle compatible with having two molle straps on the reverse, giving you the option to attach it to vests, plate carriers, battle belts or even using the molle as a simple belt loop to mount it to your normal belt. Mine sits nicely on my Warrior Assault Systems drop leg molle panel.

Adjustability

With pull tabs on the edges of the panels, its velcro panel system is insanely easy to set up for a first time use. Just open up the outer panel to reveal the inner securing tabs. Once these are pulled back, you can easily adjust the holster to fit your pistol – ensuring the trigger guard is in place past the retention lock. Once it’s as snug as a bug in a rug, just repeat the process in reverse, replacing all the velcro panels in their rightful place to give your sidearm a secure, (almost) tailor made pistol shaped hug.

Quality

The retention lock that keeps your faithful secondary firmly in place, is one of the things that makes this bit of kit so reliable. Containing components made from top notch mil-spec materials such as 1000D cordura, you can’t deny the security it offers. Especially when combined with a smooth push down thumb release, it’s so easy to use and you can rest assured your sidearm isn’t going anywhere you don’t want it to.

Once it’s locked in place, it’s just about impossible for it to be removed without using the thumb release.

Being made from 1000D cordura ,mentioned above, with a composite polymer insert means this thing is as robust as they come. It’s definitely built to last and it offers great protection against the rigors of game day.

Trigger Safety

From a safety perspective, when your pistol is holstered, the trigger is enclosed within the confines of the holster, making it virtually impossible to negligently discharge the weapon during drawing or holstering (we all know at least one person who this will benefit…)

Drawbacks

The only real downside to this product is that the end of your pistol’s barrel is exposed when holstered, but unless you constantly throw yourself around, this won’t make a blind bit of difference to its functionality.

Airsoft Ranch Verdict

Overall, this is one hell of a holster. It boasts the whole package – safety, security, durability and style. It’s versatility puts it head and shoulders above all other universal pistol holsters on the market right now. Being available in a variety of colours including multicam, olive green, black and more, means there’s one for every loadout you could think of.

I’d genuinely recommend this to anyone as it’s been an absolutely amazing addition to my loadout and I’d bet it would be for yours too.

Armed forces and airsofters all over the world trust Warrior Assault Systems products, and using this little beauty, it’s easy to see why.
